Possibilities Reveal Themselves
Have you ever noticed that the next step in life often doesn't become visible until you've taken the one right in front of you?
We are conditioned to want the whole map. We want certainty before commitment, answers before action, and guarantees before we move forward. Yet Spirit seems to operate differently. Often, we are given just enough light for the next step, just enough guidance for today, and just enough faith to keep moving. Looking back over my own life, some of the most meaningful experiences, relationships, and opportunities arrived not because I had everything figured out, but because I was willing to say yes before I knew exactly where the path would lead.
What are we planting today?
Standing among stones that have endured for thousands of years, I was reminded that nothing of lasting value appears overnight. The people who placed those stones could never have imagined that generations later others would still come seeking wisdom, connection, and meaning. Yet their efforts continue to bear fruit.
The same principle applies to our spiritual lives.
Sabbatical Reflections: England, Ancient Stones, and Coming Home
Many years ago, I learned a song whose lyrics seem to capture this season of my life: "I'm an old woman, I'm a new woman, I'm the same woman, just deeper than before."
As I reflect on my month-long sabbatical, those words feel especially true.
