What we believe and practice
Some people come to Unity spiritual and looking for a community. Some come as Christians with questions. Many have given up on traditional church but haven't given up on their faith, or on God, or on their own spiritual growth.

Our Five Principles
The Nature of God — God is good and everywhere present.
Our Nature — The Spirit of God lives within each person; therefore, all people are inherently Good.
Consciousness — We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.
Prayer and Meditation — There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God.
Living Consciously — Knowledge of these spiritual principles is not enough we must live them.

Unity Center for Spiritual Growth, Windham, Maine is a member of the worldwide Unity movement founded in the late 1800s by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore and part of the broader New Thought Movement.
With Unity Churches throughout the United States, Canada, and the world Unity offers positive, practical teachings that support spiritual evolution and abundant living.
Though our roots are in Christianity, Unity draws heavily upon the universal wisdom found at the heart of all the world’s religions and offers a spiritually progressive, socially responsive, and radically inclusive approach to the traditional Christian faith that is as practical as it is mystical.
Some people come to Unity already spiritual and looking for a community. Others come from a variety of faith backgrounds carrying questions, curiosity, or a desire for something more. Many have moved beyond traditional religious structures but haven’t given up on their faith, their relationship with the Divine, or their own spiritual growth.
