Featured Speaker Spotlight: Jack Cole
Trusting the Divine Journey
This week we are pleased to feature longtime Unity member Jack Sterling Cole, whose life and work are rooted in healing, spiritual growth, and a deep trust in the unfolding presence of the Divine.
Jack has been an active member of our community for nearly twenty years. Over the years, he has served in many capacities, including as a greeter, prayer partner, and member of the Board of Trustees. His steady presence and commitment to serving others have made him a valued part of the Unity Center family.
Professionally, Jack is a healer, teacher, and author of My Healing Journey. With more than twenty-five years of experience in Reiki and hypnotherapy, he has dedicated his life to helping others discover their innate capacity for healing and transformation. Through his work, he has supported individuals in healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually, emphasizing the powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit. Today, he continues to share his message through speaking, writing, and working with individuals around the world.
Jack's introduction to Unity came through an unexpected invitation. Many years ago, Unity was hosting a showing of Conversations with God, the film based on the work of Neale Donald Walsch. He attended, connected with the people he met, and decided to make Unity Center his spiritual home.
"I liked the people I met and decided to be part of this community."
Jack's spiritual journey began early with a study of the King James Bible. Later, he found inspiration in the work of Dr. M. Scott Peck, particularly The Road Less Traveled. During a significant life shift in his forties, Conversations with God opened new perspectives that deepened his understanding of spirituality and personal growth.
Since then, Jack has immersed himself in the study of healing and spiritual development and has recently begun writing to share the wisdom he has gathered through years of learning and experience.
One lesson life continues to teach him is the importance of presence.
"Life is teaching me to be very present to what life is bringing me in the moment and to be enjoying it."
He is currently fascinated by a fresh examination of the biblical story of Job, finding inspiration in the journey of a man who experienced tremendous loss, remained faithful, and ultimately found restoration and abundance once again.
Outside of church, Jack's heart is nourished by music, dancing, meaningful relationships, and what he describes as "the wonderful unfolding of God's love."
These days, Jack finds himself growing into an even greater awareness of the Divine's continual presence in everyday life.
"The constant presence of the Divine in the flow of everyday life and great gratitude for what is before me."
When speaking this Sunday, Jack hopes listeners will embrace a profound spiritual truth: that while we may have hopes and expectations for how life should unfold, the Divine often has a larger vision than our own.
"Though we may think our ideas are better, if we cease to argue with what is, we will stop wasting our time and be happy with what the Divine is bringing us to."
As a special note, Jack shares that on his 45th birthday he was ordained into a sacred ministry of healing, a call that continues to bring him joy and purpose today.
Through decades of service, healing work, spiritual practice, and personal growth, Jack's life reflects a simple yet powerful message: when we trust the Divine flow and remain open to life's unfolding, we discover guidance, healing, and grace in every season.
